Red-, white-, black-currants, gooseberries + now the raspberries are coming out! Couple of strawberry flowers coming out in time for a second flourish (or maybe a first on the 'new' plants). And the tomatoes are coming good now.
Still no luck with the beans. :-( Looks like the only beans standing a chance against the slugs are the ones in the hanging baskets. I have a few spare plants but it seems pointless putting them on the plot, as they are just getting munched.
Weeded out the potatoes again. Amazing how high the damned things grow in a week or two. Not a lot of potato life left
Broad beans have been going for a while, but now we're fully in the swing of red currants, white currants, gooseberries, strawberries and peas! Not to mention the potatoes. Nick made lovely mashed potato yesterday.
The runner beans have had to be replaced, as there was a huge amount of sluggage ruining them this year. :-( But I had some in the greenhouse, which are now out, and a whole bunch more that should be able to go out by the end of July.
And! The first orangey tomato! It's only a GD, but it's about a month earlier than most other years
